Win Us! Trois chats du peeps cleanere!

I love these Chenille Cats Christmas Ornaments by Stephanie of Old World Primitives with Victorian cat heads, fat huggable bear bodies (not too hard or you'll crush them!) and a lot of funness going on who could resist! I had to have them and now you can too! Simply visit Stephanie's etsy shop and leave a comment below, winner will be announced on Friday!

Weekend WOW- Mommy I'm bored

See La Danse @ Film Forum in NYC (A newly released documentary about the Paris Ballet which investigates all of the proceedings that lead up to a final performance!) No tripping in this one, unless it's to d'light fantastique!

Wine Tote image
Carry around your wine tote (seen @Cup of Jo and found here) from the store to your house on foot with style, no tapping on the street, it's illegal, it's not a classy brown bag and don't ever ever drive your SUV while this is in your possession! btw it has a map of Manhattan on the back in case someone finds you stumbling they can deliver you to the pre-circled arrow on your handy street grid (I live here!)

Throw a tea-party with lots of Jam (spotted @ A Day That Is Dessert)

or go for a bike ride , get all big and flash that glare. Scare a few neighborhood dogs, keeps them on their toes! (Sort of like Kato and Inspector Clouseau)

Have a great weekend!

It's like Twilight, you don't know whether the vampire's gonna bite you or screw you

Inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula which was the star of horror movies on Halloween night, yuck, with Gary Oldman's double bun up-do freakshow
saddest pumpkin ever by ashleyg.
"the saddest pumpkin ever" was disappointed by the moral standards of the vampires as well.

Paint your ass and drag your butt, you non-creative bitch!

All heart and soul, beep, beep, beep, turn off modem, turn off modem, turn off modem... Better to save that money you would have wasted on art for that nice condo in West Palm Beach when your 80, god willing.
btw I think Dwell magazine should be re-titled "Dwell In Your Mind Neurotic", or "Get Out of Your Box F&#$ Head!"
News Flash Sir Edmund Hillary found reading Dwell, nuh-uh...

NYC Marathon

Woman considers gender issues and carries her nationality, as Christ carried the cross, while running the NYC Marathon. Being French obviously means more than liking pomme frite and foie gras. It's sort of funny but losing those toe nails won't be! (Carrying the eiffel tower for 26.2 miles! Think bang, bang, bang, bang, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch.) And I thought me toes hurt from wearing 2 pairs of wool socks! At one point we heard that Lance circled this person with his arms in the air fist pumping and shouting number 8, number 8!

Nice goats by will_davies.
This has been a bit of a crazy week, probably too much time spent online updating my new Special editions shop, reconnecting with internet peeps, discovering great new shops and amazing coffee, dreaming of travels to France and the Swiss Alps for the holidays (or maybe even permanently at this point!) and super excited about Halloween (Dance Macabre has been on repeat for the last 2 days!) Add two gray blustery days of wind and rain to the mix, crazy could be peeking it's head around the corner! Going to float my head off into a child's version of Halloween and let the Halloween Judge figure out the rest...

Come walk with us!

We wore our pink jumpsuits just for the occasion!
And took the path less traveled.

We passed an old new england church

that may have had some spooky ghosts inside

and saw a lot of beautiful leaves when we looked up...

..and a lot of beautiful leaves when we looked down! (after last nights storm violently and with great menace blew them to the earth, rip rip slap slap)

Time to work on our leaf jumpin skills! (Of course our pile would have some knifes stickin up in it)

and when we finally made it to the beach and turned around..

we saw the moon and all was calm and peaceful.

Sting off on another cold and blustery walk with his miserable and snarling mutt

It's times like these that make me rue the lack of a Starbucks on the Island, as if there were I could deftly slip this thin and magical disc into my lint filled pocket while the friendly Barista carefully prepared my pumpkin spice latte, make it skinny please!
Keep your eyes open for my new production line, Soul Cake t-shirts, in eye-popping Kermit green with Miss Piggy pink lettering- gonna love!
For now I may have to purchase If On A Winter's Night on Amazon, all in good fun Mr. Sumner, chin up, pip-pip!
Looks like another Sasquatch sighting!

Euro trip gone wrong, but oh so beautiful

Vineyards near Aigle, originally uploaded by will_davies.

I wouldn't even mind being dragged down this road by a chain hooked up to a rusted red Ford F150 pickup truck full of moonshine sodden toothless and mullet adorned rednecks! So fast that it would ignite the recycled polypropylene in my Patagonia vest, after being pulled from the seat of my quickly descending De rosa King.

Loving and having art is not done after the purchase, careful thought and consideration must be given to framing and hanging! I love all these prints but I really love the care and attention given by those who purchased them!

Do you have a work by me or Tom displayed proudly somewhere in your house? If so please share! I've put together a new flickr group called
The Dancing Cat just for this! You guys make the work sing!

Ode to the simple things!

Two exciting things happened last night, I got my new German pens and we had sweet potatoes! I made this little sketch to celebrate! Who knew oven roasted sweet potatoes with a little butter, salt and pepper could be so spectacular!

NEW Prints now available in my Special Editions Shop, including my simple dutch bicycle illustration- check it out! I've always wanted to own one of these! NYC shop A Black Bike stocks the real thing and states "the steel swanlike frame will make you feel you are riding the most elegant bike in town and is a true eye catcher." I hope my illustration captures the essence of such a chic bike in my own little whimsical style!

Pumpkin Moonshine

Pumpkin Moonshine
Recently came across Pumpkin Moonshine by Tasha Tudor while visiting The Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA. Good stuff. Also check out The Christmas Cat which I almost couldn't resist purchasing but held out for a liverwurst sandwich in the cafe instead- sustenance prevailed.

Also saw some emotionally disturbing seagull paintings by Jamie Wyeth. Blood, guts, gore, sex, and oversized violent seagulls emerging from a field of flames as if from an Armageddon based movie. So freak show and disturbing, the cute seaside charmer with his sheeps clothing ripped away and the true filthy wolf inside revealed. All of this was punched home by a manic and loud presentation by his niece Victoria Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth's only grandchild. We love the Wyeths, crazy fiends of Halloweenianna who blow up the ashen remains of their dead, not the bucolic barn loving Americana that you think you know- asshole! Read more here A Portrait of the Wyeths

I can only imagine that Tasha Tudor shared the Wyeths eccentricity!
